Two Key wins propel Marlins into stretch run
.

The Boys Varsity soccer team had two huge victories in conference last week, avenging an earlier loss and beating Trinity COllegiate 2-0, and again scoring late to topple Marlboro Academy 2-1 on Friday in front of a large crowd.  Against Trinity, Marsh Deane in net and a Stellar defensive performance led by ALlston Lumpkin put a stranglehold on the Trinity offense. Goals by Ben Laflour and Blake Hurston were the difference. Mac Getz also played an amazing 2 games with his hustle and ability on corner kicks and crosses to spur on the Marlin offense. In game two versus Marlboro Academy, Mac Getz started the scoring with an awesome finish after a solid feed from Luke Gates. After tying it 1-1 the game was at a standstill until the Marlins lined up for a corner kick with just 2 minutes remaining. Mac again put a perfect ball in the box, and Blake Hurston came flying out of the air for the winning header to the back of the net. The goal sent the fans crazy and assured the Marlins at least a share of the conference title. Carson Young playing midfield and left wing for the boys played her usual solid games, and looks forward to a tough week ahead. The Boys playoff fate will be determained this week with a tune-up vs. Christian academy on Tuesday, and the conference finale on Friday at Marlboro academy. WIth a win on friday the Marlins will clinch the conference and a #1 seed heading into the playoffs. Coach Bell

Marlins splash into State Playoffs
The Boys Varsity soccer team traveled to Marlboro Academy to take on the Dragons on Friday.  Things went well for the boys as they dominated the first half with 2 goals. The first goal was by Ben Laflour on a brilliant header off a great pass from Blake Hurston. Goal number two was scored on a great cross from Mac Getz thay Carson Young walked into the goal. From there Marsh Deane in goal and the staunch Marlin Defense led the way led by Nick Seahorn, ALlston Lumpkin, Justin Smith and Pud Ivey. The 2-0 final put the team in the Final Four and will play at a site to be determained on Tuesday. It is the 5th straight year the team has reached the Final Four with 2 state titles on their resume. Good luck on Tuesday and GO MARLINS!!!
